Q: I want to be able to manage my costs of using internet data, do you have any products that can help me?


A: Yes, we have data bolt ons that you can subscribe to that will help you both manage your cost but still have great access. Data bolt ons come in 3 different sizes to meet your needs. SMALL. MEDIUM. LARGE. You can subscribe through the USSD menu on your handset. Or via IVR by calling 234 or the Contact Centre.

Q: What is the difference between 2G and 3G?


A: 3G is modern technology that enables you to access the internet faster and have a stronger signal so you can connect for a better experience.

Q: How do I know how much data it takes to do things?


A: Answer: Data usage varies but here is an example: (1) streaming music in high quality (4 mins) uses about 10MB (2)watching a YouTube clip on Facebook uses about 3MB per minute (3) posting pictures on Facebook about 1MB (4) sending pictures via email up to 3.5MB

Q: How do I know when my internet is used up?


A: You will receive an SMS advising you when you have reached 80% of your usage and again when you have used up all of your allowance.

Q: How do I check if my device can access the internet?


A: All Ooredoo approved phones support the internet. If you have an existing phone it must be compatible with UMTS900/2100 frequency. This information can be found on the side of the phone box. Alternatively, please call our Contact Centre who will be able to advise you, if your phone is compatible with the Ooredoo 3G network.
