Q: Can I use my internet while roaming?


A: Access to mobile data is one of the add on services to the basic voice + sms roaming. It will not be available for all the launched roaming destinations, but you will see it growing over time. Please mind that enabling roaming data on your phone will mean that the phone will do syncronisations, app updates, mail checks and thereby consuming data even if the action isn't initiated by you. If you enable roaming data, you are adviced to take special care that you are ready to accept the cost incurred.

Q: Can I call the Ooredoo Contact Centre while roaming and what is the charge?


A: Yes you can. The rate calling the Contact Centre is the same as calling another number in Myanmar, and the actual rate varies between countries. Please consult the International section of the site for the actual rate.

Q: How do I turn off my internet while roaming?


A: There is typically a function to allow domestic data but block roaming data. How you do this varies between phones. In most phones, roaming data is disabled by default. Please consult the manual you got with your phone to find out how to do it.

Q: Which countries can I roam with an Ooredoo SIM card?


A: Adding new countries and roaming partners is a running process. Before leaving Myanmar we advice you to take a look at the roaming overseas section of this site under plans to see the current status.

Q: How can I apply for an International Roaming Service for my SIM card?


A: Prepaid SIMs have International Roaming enabled by default.

A: This is the function whereby you are able to use your Ooredoo Myanmar subscription also outside of Myanmar.

A: International Direct Dialing is the function of "calling to"and "being called from" any country in the world. You can check our IDD rates under the plans section.

Q: Will I be charged for receiving incoming IDD calls & SMS?


A: There is no charge for receiving either text or calls while you are in Myanmar on the Ooredoo network.

Q: How can I send international SMS


A: The international prefix is "+" followed by the country code of where you want to call. So for calling the number 09 12345678 in Thailand you should dial +66 12345678. Wheareas Ooredoo ties to ensure you can reach any destination globally, we cannot guarantee that this is the case.
